Artav Stainless Steel maintains the highest levels in terms of product testing within the SA market for OEM parts. Our Product Engineering Department will run simulations involving Air bag Compatibility, Load Testing, Vibration Testing on Brackets  and SABS Testing on Towbars. As and when parts have passed engineering simulations, we then move onto physical testing. This is often done in Australian due to the lack of test facilities in SA that specialises in these types of products.

Over and above the physical Air Bag Compatibility testing, we also run 100 000km endurance tests in connection with the manufacturer to determine that there are will be no defects to the product over the warranty period of the vehicle.

Safety Critical Testing

We make use of 1st World Test facilities in Australia to test our Nudge Bars for Air Bag Compatibilty. This test is conducted by using a sub frame of a vehicle and running an actual crash test scenario to verify the bar and brackets will have no negative effect on the air bag systems. This type of testing is also backed up with a comprehensive liability insurance policy to cover any product defect / failure in the market regarding Nudge Bars and Towbars. Artav Stainless Steel is proud to boast that we have not had any insurance claims to date for the last 20 years of manufacturing these safety critical products. This is a true testament to our Engineering Division and comprehensive testing involved in each part before being approved for mass production.

Additional testing also includes Vibration Testing – This involves running simulations on mounting brackets that load specific weights and have to endure 1 million to 2 million cycles without any fractures.

Load Testing – This includes testing maximum load weights on brackets – We normally have this in place for our Side Steps which can comfortably pass over a 200kg load weight.

Testing & Manufacturing - Non Safety Critical

· Plastics are all tested for UV and Fading
· Decals are tested for Adhesive – Automotive adhesive to ensure they don’t come off under high pressure spraying
· Salt Water Spray Testing to guarantee against metals rusting
· Powder Coating to be tested for External Purposes
· Guaranteeing peace of mind for our customers in the knowledge that they have the best quality product in the market is our aim
· The quality in manufacturing is controlled largely due to the automated production processes which separates us from our opposition
· Artav Stainless Steel is heavily invested in robotic technology to ensure accurate and consistent quality in the manufacturing of its accessories
· This technology includes Tube Mills, CNC Laser Cutters, CNC Press Brakes, Laser Tube Cutters, CNC Bending Machines, Robotic Plasma Cutters, Robotic Welding and Robotic Polishing
